Rajab is the sixth born in a family of eight kids.He has four sisters and three brothers.Both his parents are alive.His parents have no permanent jobs.His parents depend on farming to cater for the familys needs.It has not rained at their area for sometime and is now dry and it has been difficult for his parents to meet their needs.His father have now turned to casual labourer so as to meet their needs and his mother sells charcoal to help in meeting the familys needs.His two elder sisters dropped out of school and got married because there was no fees to keep them in school.
This young boy started school late because his parents were struggling to take his elder brothers and sisters first and then he follows next.He started kindergarten one in 2016. In class,despite the hardships he is passing through he is among the top performers.His class teacher talks highly of him.This young boy dreams of becoming an electrical engineer.His dream might not come true as he is mostly out of school due to fees.He mostly goes to school with an empty stomach.His teacher informed us that Rajab likes playing with wires and he repaired a radio which had not been working.During his free time,he likes to read story books and doing some wiring using dry cells.He likes all the subjects he is taught in class but his favorite ones are mathematics,English and science.He likes to play football during games time with his friends. While at home,he likes to help in fetching water and sweeping their compound. He shares a room with his brothers and uses a mat as his bedding.

TACEP has established itself in a rural community of Kaloleni Giriama, 2 hours north of Mombasa, Kenya. This is one area of Kenya that has a high number of orphaned children. The orphaned are mostly excommunicated from their communities due to death of their parents from AIDS, or the financial inability of their parents to look after them.
