Juma is a very humble young boy.He is the fourth born in a family of eight kids. He has a twin sister.His father died some years back and they are staying with their mother.Their mother who is the soul breadwiner of the family has no permanent job.His mother fetches water for their neighbours and also sells brooms so as to cater for their needs.His mother is struggling to meet
their needs but the little amount she get from her jobs is never enough.With the help of well wishers,two of his elder siblings managed to complete grade eight but have not joined high school due to lack of fees.They are now doing casual jobs mostly being labours in construction sites as it is the available job a grade eight leaver can get so as to help their mother.
At school he is a very hard working young boy and a disciplined .In class he is among the top performers with his twin sister.His teacher talks highly of them.This young boy dreams of becoming a doctor in the army as he also wants to be a soldier when he completes his studies.His dream might not come true as he is at risk of dropping out of school due to lack of fees. He
mostly goes to school in the morning in an empty stomach.His class teacher mostly allow him sit for his examinations even if he has not paid for it because of his hard work.In class his favourite subjects are Mathematics,Kiswahili and Science.His favourite sport is football which he loves to play during his free time with his class mates.
At home he shares a room with his twin sister and his three younger siblings.He sleeps on a mat on the floor.During weekends he likes helping his mother in fetching water from a water pan which is the only source of water in their area and sweeping their compound.

TACEP has established itself in a rural community of Kaloleni Giriama, 2 hours north of Mombasa, Kenya. This is one area of Kenya that has a high number of orphaned children. The orphaned are mostly excommunicated from their communities due to death of their parents from AIDS, or the financial inability of their parents to look after them.
