Late in 2008,Hellen a small beautiful young girl arrived in a small community, in a small single room mud house thatched with palm leaves. Under a jobless single parented mother who has been receiving support from her old father who is working in a small butchery in a nearby town to cater for the needs of the family. Hellen’s mother who is suffering from a
disease related to arthritis has difficulties with her legs and she neither walks long distances nor does heavy duties. They have been getting support from their old and ailing grandmother with most of the house chores and Hellen helps carrying water during weekends.
Hellen a grade one girl has been doing very well in school despite the frequent missing of classes due to lack of school fees. She dreams of becoming a doctor in future to come and help her two young siblings her mother and her grandparents. Her favorite subjects are; Mathematics, English and Kiswahili. Her favorite play is rope skipping and mostly play this game with her friends at school.
They survive with mostly a meal a day and this has made the young girl to work even harder at school so that she can come and change the situation of her home. She is the fast born in a family of three kids.

SNIPPET ON TACEP

TACEP has established itself in a rural community of Kaloleni Giriama, 2 hours north of Mombasa, Kenya. This is one area of Kenya that has a high number of orphaned children. The orphaned are mostly excommunicated from their communities due to death of their parents from AIDS, or the financial inability of their parents to look after them.
